Research & Innovation at SJC

At SJC, we believe research is the key to progress and innovation. Our campus fosters a research-driven learning culture, where students and faculty work together to explore new ideas, address real-world challenges, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge across disciplines.

Research Culture

We encourage every student to move beyond classroom learning and engage in inquiry, experimentation, and innovation. With mentorship from experienced faculty, students are guided to take up research projects, publish papers, and present their findings at seminars and conferences.

Research Policy & Promotion

We have a comprehensive research policy that fosters academic research, promotes interdisciplinary projects, and encourages participation in funded research schemes. Faculty and students are motivated to engage in quality research that contributes to knowledge creation and societal development.

Infrastructure for Research
  • Well-equipped laboratories in Physics, Computer Science, and Language research
  • Central Library with digital resources including e-journals, databases, and research repositories
  • Science & Innovation Club to nurture creativity and prototype development.
  • Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) to promote innovation and start-up culture.
Faculty Research & Publications
  • Faculty members actively publish research articles in Scopus and peer-reviewed journals
  • Participation in national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  • Faculty are encouraged to apply for research grants and minor/major projects from funding agencies such as UGC, DST, and ICSSR
Student Research Engagement

At SJC, research is not just an academic activity—it is a mindset. We instil curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in our students, preparing them to become innovators, problem-solvers, and knowledge leaders of tomorrow.

  • Students take up mini-projects, dissertations, and case studies as part of their curriculum.
  • Participation in research competitions, paper presentations, and innovation challenges
  • Exposure to industry-institute interactive sessions to bridge the gap between theory and practice
    Collaborations & MoUs
    • To promote a multidisciplinary research ecosystem, our college has entered into MoUs with industries and academic institutions. These collaborations open pathways for knowledge sharing, internships, consultancy, and joint research activities.
    Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
    • The institution promotes awareness of IPR, patents, and copyrights through workshops and seminars. Students and faculty are guided to transform innovative ideas into patentable outcomes and entrepreneurial ventures.
